The investment arm of Bank of Montreal (TSX:BMO), BMO Capital Markets, announced a series of senior executive appointments on Tuesday.

The firm has named Perry Hoffmeister to lead its investment banking business, as global head of investment and corporate banking. Since 2010, Hoffmeister has been the head of these same businesses in the United States.

Peter Myers is taking over from Hoffmeister as head of investment and corporate banking U.S. He will be based in Chicago. For the past six years, Myers has been head of investment and corporate banking Canada and international at BMO.

The firm’s head of Canadian M&A, Dan Barclay, is taking over as head of investment and corporate banking Canada and international. And, a senior M&A banker, John Armstrong, is to become the new head of Canadian M&A.

The firm also announced that Luke Seabrook has been appointed global head of trading products, where he will be responsible for equity products, foreign exchange products, financial products, debt products and securitization.

“I am confident that the leadership team we have in place will build on our existing successes within the Canadian market as well as continuing our momentum in the U.S. and in select global markets,” said Darryl White, group head of BMO Capital Markets.

“These appointments demonstrate the deep bench strength across our businesses and our commitment to continue to increase our U.S. market share in the mid-cap space,” White added.
