(September 5 – 15:40 ET) – The YMCA Investment-In- Values Challenge says it is the first corporate fund-raising program to go online.
The public and the media will be now able to view the rankings of the top five investment teams in real-time as transactions are placed.
Launched in 1993, the fund raising program has investment firms compete to achieve the highest gains on a fund of $100,000. Earnings in excess of the original investment are donated to the YMCA of Greater Toronto.
The YMCA says last year Bay Street firms raised a record amount of close to $1 million.
John See, vice chairman of TD Waterhouse Investor Services is chairman of the YMCA Investment-in-Values Challenge.
The program is the longest-running corporate investment challenge of its kind in Canada. Funds raised supported significant capital projects including the Kekindewin Centre at Camp PineCrest in Muskoka, the Family Development Centre and the Charles Street Employment Centre in Toronto.
