Barclays Global Investors,
the world’s largest institutional
investment manager, announced a
global marketing initiative and the
promotion of Kathleen Taylor to
Head of Global Marketing effective
January 1, 2000.

In her new role, Ms. Taylor will
lead BGI’s global marketing
efforts, including communications
and branding and will co-lead the
firm’s Internet strategy. Ms.
Taylor will manage the global
initiative from BGI’s Canadian
head office in Toronto.

Taylor is a founding member of
BGI Canada, established in 1992.
As the managing director, Business
Development for BGI Canada, she
was responsible for expanding the
firm’s client base to more than
120 institutional accounts with
assets under management of C$22
billion. She was also involved
in the recent launch of BGI’s first
North American exchange traded
fund, iUnits(TM) S&P(R)/TSE(TM)
60. Similar products will be
launched in the United States
early next year.

Prior to joining BGI, Ms. Taylor
spent 12 years as a principal of a
Canadian investment counseling
firm specializing in quantitative
and passive management strategies.
She received her Chartered
Financial Analyst designation in
1986 and is a member of the
Toronto Society of Financial
Analysts and the Association of
Investment Management Research.
