(March 6 – 10:15 ET) – Bank of Montreal is launching an advertising campaign to convince Canada Trust MasterCard holders to switch to the bank’s MasterCard. The Canada Trust MasterCard portfolio is currently up for sale, as a result of the takeover of Canada Trust by TD Bank.
“Recent newspaper reports have speculated that a U.S. credit card company or U.S. bank will purchase the CT MasterCard portfolio,” says Rob Pearce, Executive Vice-President,
Electronic Banking Services, Bank of Montreal. “The Canada Trust MasterCard will soon be a thing of the past – but having a Canadian MasterCard doesn’t have to be.
“We are inviting all CT MasterCard holders to make the switch to Bank of Montreal MasterCard, where they can take advantage of our award-winning customer service call centres, and a variety of MasterCard options and features, including Air Miles Reward Miles,” said Mr. Pearce.
“There is a lot of uncertainty right now for CT MasterCard holders,” says Kathy Silmser, Senior Vice-President, Cardholder Services, Bank of Montreal. “By acting now, CT MasterCard holders can apply for and switch to a Bank
of Montreal MasterCard card which has all the features and options they really
want.”
