Aviva Canada Inc. announced Friday the rebranding of its subsidiary companies Pilot Insurance Company, and Scottish & York Insurance Co. Ltd.

The brands will now be known as Aviva Pilot and Aviva Scottish & York.

Aviva, which was created out of an amalgamation of numerous insurance companies, has been insuring Canadians since 1906. The company is in the final stages of creating a single corporate brand.

In addition to Aviva Pilot and Aviva Scottish & York, the company also operates Aviva Insurance, Aviva Traders and Aviva Elite. Together, the group provides home, auto and business insurance to more than 3 million customers.

“By adopting the Aviva brand mark, Aviva Pilot and Aviva Scottish & York clearly become part of the ‘One Aviva’ value proposition for consumers and insurance brokers in Canada,” says Aviva Canada president and CEO Robin Spencer.

Aviva Pilot has been providing home and auto insurance to Ontario consumers for more than 80 years and currently serves 440,000 policyholders through a network of 23 local claims offices across the province supported by more than 350 employees.

Aviva Scottish & York provides home and auto insurance. The company is a national specialty insurer offering its broker partners a leading-edge distribution and delivery model.

Aviva Canada Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of UK-based Aviva plc, the world’s fifth largest insurance group.
