Air Canada has resumed flights to and from the three New York City area airports, LaGuardia, Newark and JFK. Those airports were closed by American aviation authorities following this morningÕs crash of American Airlines Flight 587, but they were re-opened this afternoon.

Passengers are being re-accommodated on the remainder of today’s flights, representing approximately half of the airline’s originally scheduled flights to and from New York City, today.

Some flights may be delayed, says Air Canada, so passengers should consult the Air Canada website for flight status information before going to the airport. Scheduled operations to and from New York City are expected to return to normal by tomorrow.

Passengers on affected flights to and from New York City should contact their travel agent or Air Canada reservations at 1-888-247-2262 for re-booking.

To facilitate re-accommodation on later flights for passengers affected by schedule changes to and from New York City, Air Canada is waiving change fees on discounted tickets held by those passengers.
