Harley Lockhart, a senior financial advisor at Quail Ridge Financial Services in Kelowna, B.C., has been elected chairman of the 2013 Advocis board of directors.

In 2012, Lockhart was the treasurer of the board’s executive committee. Prior to that he chaired a task force with the mandate to revise the Advocis Code of Professional Conduct. Before joining the Advocis board, Lockhart was part of the North Okanagan chapter board for eight years. Lockhart first joined Advocis as an independent practitioner in 1985.

Members of Advocis elected Lockhart as chairman on November 19, along with eight other board members. The members of the Advocis board of directors include:

  • Dean Owen (past chairman);
  • David Juvet (vice chairman);
  • Wade Baldwin (secretary);
  • Caron Czorny (treasurer);
  • Andrew Guilfoyle (director);
  • David Mann (director);
  • Joseph Ruddell (director);
  • Jim Virtue (chairman, the Institute for Advanced Financial Education);
  • Izumi Miki-McGruer (chairwoman, Chapter Leadership Council); and
  • Greg Pollock (Advocis president and CEO).
