The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions reports that late last year the Joint Forum of Financial Markets Regulators issued a consultation paper on high-level business continuity principles.

The paper contains a set of high-level guiding principles that build upon traditional concepts of effective business continuity management and that reflect the current risk environment and the interdependencies of the global financial sector.

The Joint Forum is a cooperative cross-sector work forum whose parent bodies are the International Organization of Securities Commissions, the Basle Committee on Banking Supervision and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. The paper is available on their Web sites.

The deadline for comments is March 10.
