(November 12 – 15:00 ET) – The
Alberta and B.C. Securities Commissions have
approved in principle the
recognition of the Canadian Venture
Exchange (CDNX) as an exchange in
their respective provinces.
In March, the ASE and the VSE
announced a merger as part of a
larger restructuring of the
Canadian stock exchanges.
As a result of the approvals,
CDNX anticipates commencing
operations on November 29th, 1999.
Upon completion of the merger,
issuers previously listed either on
the ASE or the VSE will
automatically become reporting
issuers in both jurisdictions.
ASE listed issuers will also
become “exchange issuers” under BC
securities legislation.
