Euronext NV’s regulators met in Amsterdam today to consider its acquisition by NYSE Group Inc. They hope to have a decision by early December.

The UK’s Financial Services Authority reported that the chairman’s committee of the Euronext regulators met to consider the potential combination of the NYSE and Euronext into NYSE Euronext.

“The regulators are in the process of analyzing a report from the joint taskforce, which was set up earlier this year to consider the potential combination,” it reports. “Currently the regulators are in the process of finalizing their considerations. The Euronext regulators expect to come to the conclusion of their considerations, at the latest by early December.”

The proposed deal was announced on June 1. It imagines the creation of a holding company incorporated in the U.S., the shares of which would be listed on NYSE and on Euronext Paris. The proposed combination is subject to prior authorizations by the respective Euronext regulators and, in some cases, the Ministers of Finance, on the European side and by the Securities and Exchange Commission in the U.S.
