(September 1 – 09:20 ET) – The Competition Bureau is announcing a set of technical changes to the Competition Act. They are designed to harmonize the French and English versions of the Act.

The only tweak the Bureau characterizes as substantive is a change to the description of the circumstances under which the Commissioner can launch an inquiry – changing the phrase, “whenever he believes on reasonable grounds that” to “whenever the Commissioner has reason to believe that”.

All the other changes are to the French version.
