(January 21 – 09:35 ET) – The B.C. Securities Commission has refused an application by Anthony Pollard to overturn a disciplinary decision of the Canadian Venture Exchange. A BCSC panel has ruled that the Exchange’s decision was not bias against Pollard. It upheld the CDNX’s decision.
CDNX had cited Pollard for exchange by-law violations. At his disciplinary hearing, Pollard asked for an adjournment until his lawsuit against the exchange for alleged abuse of power, conspiracy and unlawful interference with his economic interests has been resolved.
He argued that the existence of the lawsuit created a reasonable apprehension of bias on the disciplinary hearing panel. The exchange found no bias and refused to adjourn the hearing.
