(October 4 – 15:45 ET) – The Alberta Securities Commission has issued two Blanket Orders which provide transitional relief from reporting issuer obligations for former Vancouver Stock Exchange, Canadian Dealer Network, and Toronto Stock Exchanges issuers now listed on the Canadian Venture Exchange.

Blanket Order No. 51-502 revokes and replaces Blanket Order No. 51-501. The Blanket Order provides transitional relief to former VSE issuers that became reporting issuers in Alberta automatically as a result of the merger of The Alberta Stock Exchange and the VSE to form the CDNX. The Blanket Order relieves them from certain filing obligations applicable to Alberta reporting issuers, provided, generally, that they comply with the equivalent requirements under British Columbia securities law and certain modified filing requirements. The relief provided by Blanket Order No. 51-502 expires on June 30, 2001.

Blanket Order No. 51-503 provides transitional relief, from certain filing obligations imposed on Alberta reporting issuers, to former TSE issuers and former CDN quoted issuers that transfer their listing to CDNX and become Alberta reporting issuers by virtue of listing on CDNX. The relief provided by Blanket Order No. 51-503 also expires on June 30, 2001.
