The Alberta Securities Commission has extended the public comment period to ensure all interested market participants have an opportunity to make comment on the proposed acquisition of the Canadian Venture Exchange by the Toronto Stock Exchange. The proposed transaction is subject to the approval of both the Alberta and British Columbia securities commissions.
“We want to hear from stakeholders and market participants, to know what the industry thinks of the deal and what issues it raises for them,” said Stephen Sibold, chairman of the ASC.
The ASC is asking market participants to comment specifically, in writing, on certain aspects of the proposed transaction by June 15.
