Bank of Montreal’s Web Monthly Progress Monitor software application was honoured by the Chairmen’s Committee of the Computerworld Honors Program, and it has been accepted for inclusion in the Smithsonian Institution’s Permanent Research Collection.
The committee also formally presented the application to a select group of the world’s leading academic and research institutions such as Harvard, MIT, and Stanford. This award recognizes tools that extend the benefits of technology to society.
WebMPM was developed to give the branch network financial-management information. WebMPM dramatically sped up the slower, less efficient system based on paper reports, providing users the ability to obtain needed information in a matter of seconds.
“Bank of Montreal is proud to be recognized by the Computerworld Honors Program in our efforts to utilize leading-edge technology to improve our ability to immediately deliver needed business intelligence,” said John Veltkamp, leader of the Systems Programming and Design for BMO. “We have realized significant cost and time saving benefits in a short period of time because we were able to leverage the bank’s existing technology to deploy the application very quickly.”
