BCI Bank, a presence on the Canadian banking scene since 1981, has changed its name to IntesaBci Canada, effective today.
The move reflects a recent integration initiative completed by the bank’s parent company in Italy, which joined together two leading European banks, Banca Commerciale Italiana and Banca Intesa, creating IntesaBci.
The newly integrated company is one of the world’s largest financial services institutions. It has more than 4,000 locations in over 60 countries, global assets exceeding $700 billion and a long and rich banking tradition, with roots dating back to the 1800s.
The name change is being implemented throughout the company’s international network to create an integrated and cohesive global presence. This will enable customers to recognize the bank everywhere it operates and help build awareness of a premier financial organization.
“Today marks the start of a new and exciting era for the bank,” said Clemente Benelli, president and CEO, IntesaBci Canada. “Our parent company’s merger allows us to provide even greater benefits to our Canadian clients, such as enhanced access to international markets and a broader array of services.”
The “IntesaBci Canada” brand, which presents a new look and logo for the bank, will now appear at all of its branches and automated banking machines. The bank is also unveiling a new Web site at www.intesabci.ca and a series of information brochures.
