“Will I have enough?” This is the key financial question for most individuals, according to TriDelta Financial Partners.

The Toronto-based firm has placed a free tool on its Web site designed to answer that question. Sometimes the question relates to having enough to pay the bills, or to pay for children’s education, but the ultimate question for many is, “Will I ever outlive my money?”

With people living longer, and company pension plans slowly disappearing, it is a question that is becoming more important than ever for Canadians, the firm says.

The tool, called “TriDelta Estate 100,” uses tax, pension and actuarial tables to assess a client’s financial future, assigning a score from 0 to 100. A score of 0 suggests a real risk of the candidate outliving his or her money without making changes. A score of 100 strongly suggests that the person will never outlive their money.

The TriDelta Estate 100 is ideal for retired individuals or those close to retirement.

It also provides a good indication of the likely size of the person’s estate the total amount of tax he or she might pay over their lifetime — without estate planning solutions.
