For the first time, the Ontario government, as part of a pilot project, has granted Seneca College the ability to offer applied degrees. Starting in September, Seneca College will offer a four-year baccalaureate degree in financial services management.
“Seneca’s applied degree program will allow the College to provide degree-level graduates where industry has identified a need,” says Seneca President Rick Miner. “The applied degree will complement our current diploma programs, and offer a credential that reflects the theoretical foundation and advanced applied education our students receive.”
Seneca’s Bachelor of Applied Business – Financial Services Management program will address the need for degree-level graduates with specialized skills for the banking and insurance sectors. Created with input from these areas, it will focus on all aspects of financial services including consumer protection and privacy, customer relationship management, investment strategies, e-business and insurance law. A co-op semester is included as part of the program.
