(January 18 – 15:45 ET) — The Commission des valeurs mobilières du Québec (CVMQ) will launch a six-week advertising blitz on television and the Internet to promote its role to the public.
“Investors are solicited from every side by new products and new market participants. The commission can help them find their way through this increasingly complex environment by its role in supervising the market and by serving as a credible, neutral and objective reference,” says CVMQ chair Carmen Crépin.
“Because of the recent changes in the Canadian financial landscape, especially the realignment of the stock exchanges, we must repeat our message to the public and to market participants, reminding them that the Commission is an impartial regulator responsible for the efficient regulation of the financial markets,” she says.
The campaign, which runs through Feb. 27, will air on Radio Canada’s news and sports stations and be featured on popular business Web sites such as investmentexecutive.com.
