The Canadian Association of Pension Supervisory Authorities Association has issued a couple of consultation papers for discussion.
In a letter from Sherallyn Miller, chair of CAPSA and Superintendent of Pensions at the British Columbia Ministry of Labour, the group introduces two consultation papers for comments from industry stakeholders:
- the CAPSA Pension Governance Guideline and Implementation Tool; and
- Proposed Regulatory Guidelines for Electronic Communication in the Pension Industry.
The governance guideline and implementation tool are intended to be used as the basis for a harmonized guideline for pension plan governance across Canadian jurisdictions.
The guidelines on electronic communication also set out underlying principles for a harmonized regulatory approach. Miller says these documents do not reflect the official position of any provincial or federal government or agency.
Comments on the draft guidelines are due by July 31.
