(February 3 – 15:00 ET) – E-finance software firm Intuit Canada Ltd. has become the first tax software company to receive Netfile certification from the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.

Canadians will be able to file their personal tax returns directly over the Internet for free using Intuit’s QuickTax(1) package.

The CCRA has invited 3.8 million Canadians who filed their 1998 tax return using personal tax software to file their 1999 personal tax return over the Internet as part of a pilot project. Participants must have received a special invitation and code from the CCRA with their 1999 tax labels.

Intuit launched personal tax software products QuickTax Personal, QuickTax Deluxe and QuickTax Incorporated Business today.
