(February 21 – 16:00 ET) – The Financial Services Commission of Ontario has launched a redesigned website.
Although much of the content remains the same and the search functions appear to be at least temporarily disabled, the site has a new look and easier navigation. FSCO is responsible for provincially regulated pensions, insurance and deposit businesses.
Assorted government regulators have recently been putting more attention into their websites as a more efficient, effective way of informing consumers and disseminating information to industry.
The Manitoba and Alberta securities commissions have recently launched web sites, rivalling those offered by both the B.C. and Ontario commissions. Although work on a national registration database continues, at present the BCSC is the only commission offering a searchable database of its registrants.
