The Financial Planners Standards Council board of directors has approved two new education programs at the Northern and Southern Alberta Institutes of Technology.
The curriculum making up the two programs satisfies the education requirement for the certified financial planner designation. Both programs will start in the fall through the institutesÕ continuing education departments.
They are the first two Alberta-based programs to be registered directly with the FPSC. There are 86 programs offered in 65 institutions across Canada, which are registered directly with the FPSC or in partnership with the Canadian association of Insurance and Financial Advisors or the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning. Programs are approved for a three-year term.
