A little over half of those individuals who wrote the Financial Planners Standards Council’s Certified Financial Planner Examination on November 10 passed the test.

The FPSC says 1,497 individuals wrote the CFP exam and 58.9%, or 882, passed. Of those writing the exam for the first time, 64.4% passed.

The list of the 882 successful CFP candidates will be published in the Thursday, January 10 National Post and in the February issue of Investment Executive.

“We have now completed the tenth sitting of the CFP Examination,” said FPSC president Don Johnston. “I congratulate the recent group of successful candidates. They have proven their dedication to the financial planning profession by stepping forward to pass the examination requirement of the CFP designation.”

The next scheduled CFP Examination is on Saturday, June 8, 2002. Registration closes May 8, 2002. Examination information and applications are available at www.cfp-ca.org.
