According to a recent survey, Ernst & Young LLP has been named as Canada’s top tax advisor among professional services firms and law firms for the fifth consecutive year.
The annual survey, which appears in the July/August issue of International Tax Review, gives Ernst & Young top ranking tops in both tax planning and tax transactions. The firm is also the recognized leader in two of eight specialist categories: commodity tax and transfer pricing.
The firm also ranks no less than third in capital markets, cross-border transactions, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and e-business. Allan Lanthier and Robert Couzin are cited as two of the top 10 leading individual tax practitioners in Canada.
“Five years as Canada’s number one tax advisor is a tremendous accomplishment for Ernst & Young and a great source of confidence for our clients,” says Michel Lanteigne, Canadian managing partner Tax at the firm. “This is proof positive of our unparalleled and ongoing commitment to excellence in the provision of advice and service.”
The International Tax Review surveys thousands of in-house experts and CFO’s at leading international corporations and financial institutions annually to compile its survey. Respondents are asked to name the top firms in their jurisdictions, the top specialists, and the top firms in 10 specialty areas.
