A donation of 40,000 books by the Canadian Securities Institute and the Investor Learning Centre will help Ryerson University students learn more about finance and investing.

The donation is valued at about $500,000 and involves six titles, including What Every Canadian Should Know About Finance and How to Read a Financial Statement.

“We are extremely pleased that the Canadian Securities Institute and the Investor Learning Centre have chosen the Faculty of Business at Ryerson as the recipient of their unique gift,” said the Dean of Ryerson’s Faculty of Business, Tom Knowlton.

“We are very pleased to be able to extend our reach through important partnerships such as this one with Ryerson,” said Dr. Roberta Wilton, president and CEO of the CSI.

About 10,000 of the books have already been distributed to faculty, full- and part-time students. The remainder are expected to be distributed over the next two years.
