The Canadian Institute of Financial Planning and the Investment Funds Institute of Canada have announced their academic and media award winners.
The CIFP academic award goes to Aurele Courcelles of Investors Group in Winnipeg who achieved the highest overall average in the six CIFP courses for the past academic year.
The IFIC academic award goes to Patricia Carver of Quadras, a mutual fund dealer for Great West Life, who achieved the highest mark on the Canadian Investment Funds Course for the past academic year. Both winners will attend the IFIC conference to receive their award.
IFIC also announced winners for its first journalism awards program. For the English program, Andrew Bell, previously of the Globe & Mail and currently with ROB TV, garners the first place award; with second and third place going to Thomas Box and Colleen Haag respectively, both fromIE Money .
For the French program, Ronald McKenzie from Affaires Plus takes first place; Christine Deslandes, formerly with Affaires Plus and currently with Finance et Investissement, receives second place; and Lili Marin from Objectif Conseilleris third.
Bell and McKenzie are both expected to be at the IFIC Conference to receive their first place awards. The award ceremonies will take place during IFIC’s 15th Annual Conference on Wednesday, September 12.
