(November 2 – 17:05 ET) – The Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors is teaming up with a couple of educational groups to offer a tax review course for advisors via satellite.

The interactive satellite seminar “Tax Changes in 2000” will be organized by The Jacks Institute, along with BankWorks, CCH Canadian and CAIFA. It will take place November 30 in Halifax, Waterloo, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Prince George and Vancouver, and will focus on the recent federal mini-budget implications.

This three-hour seminar, featuring best-selling tax author, Evelyn Jacks, will review personal tax theory, new trends in personal taxation, including investment strategies that feature lower tax and capital gains inclusion rates, and will explore tax planning strategies to boost a client’s wealth accumulation. Participants can ask questions, answer quiz questions, work on case studies, and interact with other students across the country through the facilitator.

“With the RRSP season quickly approaching, we thought our members could benefit from a thorough review of the recent tax changes, especially as a result of the recent mini-budget,” says Damian Borges, director of continuing education at CAIFA. “This is the second time CAIFA has provided leading edge, relevant continuing education opportunities to our members in satellite format and we hope to continue to do this in the future.”
