A merger of the Canadian Association of Financial Planners and the Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors remains under discussion.

Representatives of the boards of directors of the CAFP an CAIFA met in Toronto on January 12 to discuss the feasibility of forming a single professional association of financial planners and advisors. This group identified a number of issues that warrant further consideration.

Today they said, “These confidential discussions will take place over the next few months. As circumstances dictate, the two organizations will provide additional information.”
