BMO Trust Co., a member of the BMO Financial Group, is planning to launch a new service that will provide guaranteed investment products at premium rates exclusively to advisors.

Advisor’s Advantage Trust, which begins business June 16, will supply term deposits and guaranteed investment certificates only through the planner, advisor and broker channels. Because of the streamlined delivery system, rates will be higher than those available on products sold in branches, says Colleen Adams, managing director, Advisor’s Advantage Trust. She says BMO is the first major bank to dedicate a distribution channel in this fashion.

“Our goal is to give brokers something that they can [use to] differentiate themselves from other financial institutions,” she says. “More people are looking for financial planners and advisors so this gives them something to leverage, and put value on, their services.”

Advisor’s Advantage Trust will also offer advisors a call centre and Web site to answer advisor’s questions, as well as specialized sales and service support. Advisors will have access to daily rates and application forms, and client statement production and distribution will be provided.
