(March 12 – 09:30 ET) – Assante Asset Management Ltd. today reported net sales in Canada of $119.7 million for the 2001 RRSP season.

January net sales totaled $53.5 million, with sales picking up in February, reaching $66.2 million, up 88% and 157% from the months in 2000 respectively. As a percentage of the company’s monthly average Canadian assets under management, net sales were 1.3% and 1.6% in January and February 2001, respectively.

Canadian assets under management reached $4.23 billion at the end of February 28, 2001.

Beginning this year, Assante Asset Management will release Canadian net sales figures monthly.
