(April 10 – 11:10 ET) – AIM Funds Management Inc. is making a major commitment to enhancing financial advisor education through its advisor Web site, advisor.aimfunds.ca.

The company has developed two major initiatives: Professional Development Online; and the Executive Reading program.

AIM’s Professional Development Online helps financial advisors manage their continuing education requirements by allowing them to complete accredited courses for free. When a course is completed online, the credits are automatically tracked for the industry associations they qualify for — Canadian Association of Financial Planners, Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Financial Planners Standards Council and L’Institut quebecois de planification financiere. Among the six online courses currently offered are Tax Strategies for Investing, Strategic Estate Planning and Building a Fee-Based Business.

AIM’s Executive Reading program offers financial advisors summarized versions of some of the most relevant investment and business books available today. This feature helps advisors stay up-to-date on the most important ideas and concepts from leading business authorities in minutes. All book summaries available in this exclusive program have been endorsed by the authors.

“By offering easy access to professional development resources such as PD Online and the Executive Reading program, we have established our advisor site as a rich, unbiased financial education resource,” says Peter Intraligi, AIM’s senior vice president, marketing.

“Investors look to their financial advisor to be an investment coach, not just an investment provider, and AIM is helping to ‘coach the coach,’ to the benefit of both advisors and investors.”
