AGF Funds has launched AfterWorks, the first lifestyle planning program offered by a financial services company in Canada.
Developed by AGF for investment advisers over the last two years, AfterWorks is a turnkey program made up of workbooks, tool kits and seminar material. Through the development phase, more than 1,000 investment advisers took part in the program.
“AfterWorks fills a critical gap in traditional financial planning in order to look after the meaning as well as the means,” said Randy Van Der Starren, AfterWorks director and senior vice-president, marketing, at AGF. “Whether you’re planning a sabbatical, returning to school or thinking about retirement, people need to ascertain their life goals as part of preparing a financial plan. It’s all about discovering what you love to do and how you can start doing it.”
“We have been building and refining this program for two years,” said Van Der Starren. “For investors, we have found it responds to an important need to blend lifestyle planning with financial planning. For advisers, we have seen that they are able to round out their business and provide a real framework on which to build a financial plan.”
