- Judith Robertson and Alan Stewart have been appointed adjudicators on Ontario’s Capital Markets Tribunal. They will each serve three-year terms, starting Dec. 17. Robertson brings both regulatory and capital markets experience to the role, and most recently was commissioner of the Financial Consumer Agency from 2019 to 2024. She has also served as a commissioner with the Ontario Securities Commission and a board member of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario, a managing director at Barclays Global Investors (now Blackrock) and president and CEO of Belzberg Technologies Inc. Stewart is a CPA who recently retired from Deloitte LLP, where he was a partner practising in the financial crimes group. He also served as CEO of Deloitte Financial Advisory and leader of the firm’s national forensic practice, and as an expert witness in securities-related regulatory and criminal matters.
- Paul MacDonald has been appointed president and co-chief investment officer at Harvest Portfolios Group Inc., starting Jan. 1. MacDonald joined Harvest in 2013 and is currently CIO and senior portfolio manager. He was previously a vice-president and portfolio manager at Crestview Asset Management and Mavrix Fund Management. James Learmonth, a senior portfolio manager with Harvest for the past decade with previous experience at RBC Global Asset Management, has been named co-CIO.
- Jenny Hammarlund has been promoted to executive managing director, real estate, with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, effective Jan. 5. Hammarlund joined the pension plan in early 2024 as senior managing director leading the real estate investment group in Europe. She was previously an executive vice-president, investments, and head of Europe with Cadillac Fairview. She has also held senior real estate investment and acquisition roles with H.I.G. Capital and KKR & Co. L.P.
