Vancouver-based financial services firm ZLC Financial Ltd. has announced the appointment of John Lutrin as president.

Lutrin, who has been a senior executive with Woodbridge, Ont.-based managing general agency Hub Financial Inc. for the past 20 years will assume his new role this autumn.

Lutrin has almost 25 years of experience in the financial services sector, with a focus on wealth management and insurance. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of the wealth management division with Hub, at which he was responsible for the leadership and growth of that division.

In his new role, Lutrin will be responsible for the overall operations, leadership and direction of ZLC Financial. Garry Zlotnik, chairman and CEO of ZLC Financial, previously served as president of the firm.

“We are thrilled to have John come on board,” says Zlotnik in a statement. “His experience, passion and deep industry knowledge will be invaluable to the continued growth and strategic direction of ZLC Financial.”

ZLC Financial, which was previously called Zlotnik, Lamb & Co., was co-founded by insurance advisors Hal Zlotnik (Garry’s father) and Peter Lamb. The company offers a wide range of services, including financial planning, estate planning, living benefits and employee benefits. ZLC Financial also offers mutual funds and securities through Qtrade Asset Management Inc.

The company also operates a subsidiary, ZLC Wealth Inc., which offers discretionary portfolio management and exempt-market dealer services to high net-worth clients.
