Signalling its intention to bolster its investment banking and advisory business in Canada, Wells Fargo Securities has appointed new co-heads of Wells Fargo Securities Canada.

The firm said Monday that industry veterans Darin Deschamps and Sandra Taube Godard have been named co-heads. Additionally, Deschamps will also serve as head of investment banking and capital markets in Canada.

Deschamps, recently joined the firm from National Bank Financial Inc. where he was deputy head of investment banking and head of the financial institutions group and financial sponsors coverage. He has also worked at TD Securities and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Taube Godard joined Wells Fargo Securities Canada in 2013, when it was launched to complement the company’s wholesale banking business in Canada. She was previously a managing director at Barclays Canada; managing director and head of derivative and fixed income sales for HSBC Canada; managing director at Gen Re Securities; senior vice-president, derivative sales, with Scotia Capital; and, senior vice-president, corporate banking at Mercantile Bank of Canada.
