Toronto-based TMX Group Ltd. has named Shaun McIver as its new chief client officer for equity capital markets, the stock exchange operator announced on Tuesday.

McIver, who will report to Nicholas Thadaney, president and CEO, global equity capital markets, will join TMX on April 18.

In this newly created role, McIver will focus on the design and execution of enhanced sales, relationship management and distribution strategies for TMX’s capital formation and equities trading business, the company says in its announcement.

“Equities listings and trading are core components of TMX’s business plan, and Shaun will play an important leadership role in helping us realize our vision of being a technology driven solutions provider that puts clients first,” says Thadaney, in a statement.

McIver brings more than 20 years of experience in sales, client service and product development. Most recently, he was global head of the digital media solutions business at Nasdaq Inc.

He previously held business, commercial, and sales leadership roles at Thomson Reuters and Teleglobe, Inc. He also co-founded and served as CEO of the Canadian technology firm Streamlogics Inc., which was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2009.
