Mark Wisniewski has joined Sprott Asset Management LP as senior portfolio manager, the Toronto-based firm says.

Wisniewski is a fixed income specialist with a depth of experience in portfolio management and the trading and analysis of debt securities. Over the course of his career, he has managed several significant fixed income mandates at some of Canada’s leading asset managers.

Sprott also announced that it has entered an agreement with Davis-Rea Ltd. to transfer management of the Davis-Rea Enhanced Income Fund, an alternative fixed income fund, to Sprott. The Davis-Rea Enhanced Income Fund will continue to be managed by Wisniewski.

Wisniewski has more than 30 years of investment industry experience in fixed income. Prior to joining Davis Rea, he was vice vresident and portfolio manager at Gluskin Sheff + Associates, where he managed $1.3 billion across several fixed income credit strategies.

His previous roles include serving as managing director and fixed income portfolio manager at Fairlane Asset Management; vice chairman and head of global fixed income at TD Securities; executive vice president and manager of the Canadian fixed income division of Goldman Sachs Inc.; and managing director, head trader and manager of fixed income trading and sales at BMO Nesbitt Burns.

Wisniewski received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto.
