Ottawa considers issuing ultra-long bonds

Toronto-based TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM) announced Wednesday that Scott Colbourne has joined the firm as managing director, global active fixed income, effective Nov. 1.

He reports to Robert Pemberton, managing director, head of fixed income.

Colbourne will lead a team of fixed income portfolio managers who will be responsible for delivering TDAM’s suite of active global and Canadian income oriented products, subject to regulatory approval.

His appointment is part of TDAM’s continued commitment and key strategic priority to diversify its offerings beyond the Canadian and U.S. fixed income markets for both retail and institutional investors.

Colbourne has nearly 30 years of global active fixed oncome experience from large Canadian mutual funds and hedge funds. Prior to his appointment, he was co-CIO at Toronto-based Sprott Asset Management, and earlier in his career, Colbourne was a vice president and director on the fixed income team at TDAM.
