Toronto-based LOGiQ Asset Management Inc. has hired industry veteran Tim Fitzpatrick as its new chief compliance officer (CCO).

Fitzpatrick is taking over the role effective on Thursday and he replaces Terence Lui, who remains at the company as vice president and general counsel.

Fitzpatrick joins LOGiQ from Goodman & Co. Investment Counsel Inc., at which he was also CCO. Prior to that, he was a senior compliance officer with Mackenzie Financial Corp. and he also has worked at the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC).

“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Fitzpatrick to the LOGiQ team,” says Joe Canavan, the firm’s president and CEO, in a statement. “His thorough knowledge of the investment industry, compliance practices and regulations reinforces our commitment to the highest standards of integrity and business conduct.”
