Toronto-based IFC Financial Inc., parent company of managing general agency insuranceforchildren.ca, has announced the appointment of Aenil Premji as CEO.

The appointment comes as IFC Financial’s board has decided that the roles of president and CEO should be split in order to manage and continue the growth of the company, which specializes in advice and solutions to help parents and grandparents build a secure future for their children and grandchildren.

Under the new executive structure, Michael Lampel will be president of insuranceforchildren, and Premji will be CEO of IFC Financial.

In Lampel’s role as president, he will focus on the growth of insuranceforchildren and sales of Child Plan. He will continue to oversee advisor and channel expansion, product development, and will continue his role in managing relationships with insurance partners.

Premji will primarily focus on the strategic growth of IFC Financial, as well as business development, brand and marketing strategy, financial and operational management, and the development of a new technology platform.

Premji has been intimately involved in insuranceforchldren and the marketing strategy of Child Plan, the company’s proprietary participating whole life insurance plan.

Premji’s experience is concentrated within the technology and telecommunication industries in Europe, Asia and North America. He has held roles including senior director at Vodafone Group plc, and chief marketing officer at Hong Kong-based mobile network operator CSL Ltd.
