Toronto-based Home Capital Group Inc. (TSX:HCG) said Friday that Greg Parker has been appointed as executive vice president and chief risk officer of Home Capital and its wholly owned subsidiary, Home Trust Company, effective Jan. 1.

Parker joined Home Capital as treasurer in 2010 and was subsequently promoted to senior vice president in 2012.

“As Chief Risk Officer, Greg will now be responsible for providing the leadership, vision and strategic direction for Home’s overall approach to risk management, and he brings extensive experience to this role,” said Gerald Soloway, Home’s CEO, in news release.

Prior to joining Home Capital, Parker was director, capital markets division at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions. Parker holds an MBA degree from Dalhousie University, has completed the Canadian Securities Course and is a member of the board of directors of PsiGate Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Home Capital.
