The Toronto-based Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) announced on Friday its President’s List for the most recent writing of the certified financial planner’s (CFP) examination.
Simon Couvrette of Ottawa, Melissa Loiselle of Edmonton and Marc Sherman of Toronto received the highest marks of the group that wrote these exams in June.
“The FPSC is pleased to recognize the President’s List honourees for their performance on this very challenging case-based examination,” says Cary List, president and CEO of the FPSC, in a statement. “We congratulate these exceptional individuals on their achievement and wish them great success as CFP professionals; they will play a critical role in helping Canadians achieve financial well-being.”
The President’s List recipients will be recognized at the FPSC’s “celebration of the profession” dinner in Toronto, which will take place on Nov. 22 during Financial Planning Week.
A total of 421 candidates wrote the national CFP examination, which is the second and final examination required on the way to achieving the designation. Successful CFP examination candidates with three years of relevant work experience are then eligible to apply for CFP certification.
The FPSC holds examinations twice a year throughout Canada, with the next sitting occurring on Nov. 25. Registration is available on the organization’s website.
