Montreal-based Fiera Capital Corp. announced on Tuesday that Julie Lalonde has been appointed to the position of executive vice president, retail markets and strategic investment partnerships, in the firm’s Canadian division.

Lalonde, whose appointment takes effect Sept. 1 will head the firm’s overall retail markets business in Canada and continue to lead the strategic investment partnerships team, which is responsible for Fiera’s largest strategic partners. She will continue to report to Sylvain Roy, president and chief operating officer of Fiera’s Canadian division.

“This appointment is consistent with our plan to develop our retail business and to offer Fiera’s differentiated investment solutions, such as the alternative strategies, the true alpha traditional strategies and the innovative structure solutions, to financial advisors and retail clients,” says Roy in a statement.

“Additionally, Julie’s expertise will be very valuable to maintain and improve our high-quality client service,” he adds. “Julie’s leadership, keen focus on clients, thorough knowledge of our suite of strategies in both the traditional and alternative space, and her experience with diverse distribution channels will enable us to efficiently bring products to market and build our growing retail business.”

Lalonde, who holds the chartered financial analyst designation and has approximately 20 years of experience in the investment industry, has been with Fiera since 2008.

Prior to leading the strategic investment partnerships team, she held senior positions within Fiera’s institutional markets team, at which she was responsible for marketing and client servicing for institutional clients.
