Mississauga, Ont.-based Counsel Portfolio Services Inc. is terminating five corporate class funds.

Investors have approved a resolution that will see the merger of those funds into their corresponding trust fund equivalents. The change is expected to be effective on or about Jan. 13, 2017.

The continuing funds are:

  • Counsel Global Small Cap (in place of Counsel Global Small Cap Class);
  • Counsel International Growth (in place of Counsel International Growth Class);
  • Counsel Short Term Bond (in place of Counsel Short Term Fixed Income Class);
  • Counsel U.S. Growth (in place of Counsel U.S. Growth Class);
  • Counsel U.S. Value (in place of Counsel U.S. Value Class).

The firm is also seeking approval to terminate Counsel International Value Class and merge that fund into Counsel International Value, which will occur in a special meeting of investors on Dec. 20.
