Laurus Investment Counsel Inc. announced on Friday today that the team from Bluewater Investment Management Inc. has officially joined the firm. Both companies are based in Toronto.
The addition of the Bluewater team will provide Laurus with increased investment depth, Laurus says in a news release. Dennis Starritt will join the firm as a shareholder and portfolio manager.
“I’ve known Dennis for over twenty-five years,” says Christopher Page, president and chief investment officer at Laurus, in a news release.
“His investment acumen, style, and knowledge of the North American equity market will bolster our current investment team and provide significant benefits to our clients in the years to come.”
“The investment styles and process of both companies are very harmonious,” adds Starritt. “We certainly expect a seamless integration, with clients of both companies observing little difference in the management of their accounts.”
With the addition of Bluewater clients, Laurus will offer a range of North American equity products approaching $400 million in assets under management.
