Rino D’Onofrio, president and CEO of Mississauga, Ont.-based RBC Life Insurance Company, has been elected chairman of the board of directors at Windsor, Conn.-based LL Global, Inc., the parent organization of global insurance associations LIMRA and LOMA.

LL Global revealed its 2017 board of directors on Monday.

D’Onofrio, who served as vice chairman in 2016, succeeds Deanna Strable, president, U.S. insurance solutions at Des Moines, Iowa-based Principal Financial Group. Strable will serve as LL Global’s immediate past chairwoman in 2017.

Michael Doughty, president and general manager at Boston-based John Hancock Insurance, was elected vice chairman, and will succeed D’Onofrio as chairman in 2018.

The LL Global board provides oversight and guidance to LIMRA and LOMA, with a goal of ensuring that their research and education programs provide value to member companies.

Six new members were elected to the board for three-year terms:

  • Todd Fancher, president, American Family Life Insurance Co.
  • Michael Ferik, executive vice president, Guardian Life Insurance Company of America
  • Scott Goldberg, president, Bankers Life and Casualty Company
  • Eric Henderson, senior vice president of life insurance and annuities, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company
  • William Lisle, CEO, AIA International Limited
  • Jill McGruder, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Western & Southern Financial Group; and president and CEO, IFS Financial Services, Inc.
