Rice Capital Management Inc.
of Winnipeg has closed its deal for
Independent Wealth Management
Inc. of Port Coquitlam, B.C.,
for an undisclosed combination of
cash and stock.
IWM acts as a back office to
independent planners in B.C. Rice
says it will be upgrading IWM’s
systems and putting its own slate
of products on the shelf there too.
It’s aiming to double IWM’s
business over the next 12 months.
Rice has also added four new
firms to its Community Associate Partner
program: Falkins Insurance Group
and Falkins Financial Group Inc.
of Cranbrook, B.C., Victoria,
B.C.’s Discovery Insurance
Services, Thunderbird Insurance
Services of Port Alberni, B.C.,
and Mennonite Trust of Waldheim,
Saskatchewan.
