(April 26 – 14:20 ET) – Officials at NASDAQ have called a press conference to make “a major announcement about a new international alliance” in Quebec.
The conference, called for late this afternoon will be held simultaneously at the NASDAQ marketsite and the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal. Frank Zarb, CEO of NASD will be hosting the conference in New York, joined by what are only described as Quebec officials from Montreal. A question and answer period will follow the announcement, expected to be a link between NASDAQ and the Montreal Exchange.
NASDAQ is intent on building itself into the world’s central market, announcing recent deals in Hong Kong and Japan. NASDAQ officials were recently in Toronto at the Toronto Stock Exchange, but the ME was first out of the blocks in approaching it about a link.
