(April 18 – 16:00 ET) – Montreal Exchange Inc. today announced the official launch of the Derivatives Institute, a new training and education centre for investors and finance professionals. This new initiative is a key element in the exchange’s new mission as the Canadian Derivatives Exchange.

“The mission of the Derivatives Institute is to train and inform the public in the use of derivatives for effective portfolio management,” said Luc Bertrand, president and CEO of Montreal Exchange Inc. in a statement.

“In addition to offering courses, workshops, and seminars in class and by correspondence, the Derivatives Institute also offers leading-edge multimedia courses online via its bilingual informational Web site,” Bertrand added.
